Communications

Here's the Scoop...

All communications efforts are not the same. We develop communication strategies around your goals. We help articulate who you are, what you do, and why it matters. Good communication is clear, concise, and consistent. We release your message, measure results, refine and repeat, and repeat, and repeat.

We love telling a good story.

A favorite story of ours about public relations, advertising, and marketing goes like this...

Blank Billboard

“If a young man tells his date she's intelligent, looks lovely, and is a great conversationalist, he's saying the right things to the right person and that is marketing.

If the young man tells his date how handsome, smart, and successful he is — that is advertising.

If someone else tells the young woman how handsome, smart, and successful her date is — that is public relations."

Content Creation

Content is the foundation of all digital marketing efforts. Without creative and consistent content, it is impossible to speak to the public online. Good content takes idea generation and collateral creation. More importantly, you must have a solid strategy to share it and grows your audience. Content takes many forms, including web pages, photos, blogs, infographics, social media, and video. You measure online success with likes and shares. Good content makes it happen.

Paid & Owned Media

Paid media is used broadly to describe a tactic and can include purchasing search results, social likes, or other awareness advertising. Most popular options are paying to come up in search results, paying for likes on social media or PPC (pay per click) on banner ads, etc. Other types of paid media are more traditional methods including advertorial (paying to place a story, product placement (drinking a Coke in a move), direct mail, or billboards. Owned media includes your compay website and printed collateral, blogs, etc.

All Things Online

The tech explosion of the past 25 years means if newspaper ads are your primary advertising, you are behind the times and not reaching customers under 40. Online is the way of today and while you can still add traditional media in your strategy, you must have a digital plan that includes a responsive website, a cross platform social media strategy, and, most importantly, you need consistency and creativity in your efforts. If not, someone else will be speaking to your customers online.

Public Relations

PR is a strategic process that builds relationships between organizations and their audiences. PR creates a narrative around the best parts of a subject. These facts, used proactively, will advance an agenda and create a respected reputation. However, with the proliferation of information, public relations work can quickly turn into crisis communications. From politicians tweeting to companies and people facing troll attacks, PR helps maintain status quo and recover if one viral voice spirals out of control and tries to reshape your story negatively.

Media Relations

You can't buy earned exposure in the news and while you can find a template online to write a press release and get the who, what, when, why, and where on paper, it's hard to tell your own story. We write releases that are effective and most importantly, get you earned media attention, that you can then leverage on social media for free! We use the latest distribution technology to cast your news net to a wide audience, develop journalist relationships, and tell your story bigger and better.
