How It Started…

In 2006, three friends and colleagues who lived in Washington, D.C., Kansas City and London had complimentary skills and dreamed of a company that would provide personal customer service to grow small businesses, non-profits and trade associations. The creation of this dream? PlanIt World.

Meet The Team
Andrea Ball, President: Andrea’s multi-faceted experience includes 15 years experience in association management, event planning, communications and destination marketing. As one of the founders of PlanIt World, a boutique, consulting management company, Andrea serves a diverse clientele that includes trade associations, non-profits and foundations from various industries. Andrea manages client meetings and communications with Agri/Washington Public Affairs Group, where she was previously employed as the Account Director for 11 years prior to opening her own firm. In addition, she serves as the executive director of the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she implemented two award-winning destination marketing campaigns and conceptualized and implemented Pickin' In the Panhandle: The WV State BBQ & Bluegrass Festival, a highly successful tourism event for the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.

A native of Rock, Kansas, population 89, Andrea brings her indefatigable personality to every project. She volunteers with a number of civic and professional organizations and serves on several boards, including the George Washington Heritage Trail, the Eastern Panhandle Bluegrass Association and Sigma Kappa Sorority Alumnae. Her passions include traveling, politics, equestrian and animal rescue. She currently resides in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area with her family and an array of pets.

She is a business graduate of Marymount University and speaks German fluently. Her past experience includes managing association operations for the French Wine Society.

Judy Malone, Administrative Assistant: Judy is the administrative assistant at PlanIt World. She assists with conference registration, client membership needs and uses her great customer service skills to answer phones. Katie Mills, Bookkeeper: Katie specializes in facts and figures. Her duties include bookkeeping, member relations and administration. Katie has over 20 years experience in bookkeeping and human resources, including over 11 years with the Fairchild Corporation as the Accounting Manager, as well as freelancing with non-profits and small businesses in the greater Washington, D.C. area.

Jill Snyder, Midwest Office: Jill's 13 years of experience in the world of finance and banking has allowed her to become particularly adept at constructing and adhering to budgets, the cornerstone of every special event. For professional meetings and conventions, she has honed her meticulous data entry skills and constructs databases that ensure attendees receive accurate name badges, information packets and invoices. Jill's event planning experience includes organizing golf tournaments, client social gatherings and incentive events. She also has an array of skills in arranging individual extraordinary events, like weddings and celebratory parties. Jill is based in Kansas City. She spends her free time expanding her traveling portfolio and at home with two sons and husband, where she is also known as "Mom."

Bernadette Johnen, International Office: Bernadette's experience varies from onsite wedding management through hotel management for audiences of up to 5,000 delegates, leisure event management, to corporate worldwide events. Bernadette thrives on the adrenalin which is generated by the onsite element of her work; however, she has any eye for detail and meticulous execution in all aspects of the event production—pre, onsite and post event. She prides herself in making each event the best experience for all involved—customer, delegate, staff and the team in general. In the case of her wedding work, she treats each one as if it were her own. Bernadette has several years of experience in negotiating hotel allocation contracts, with up to 50 hotels per event, for Gartner UK Ltd, an IT Research Company which platforms its findings in over 24 events in EMEA alone each year. She has significant knowledge in managing the hotel allocations to keep attrition to a minimum without affecting the delegate experience/hotel availability on offer. Bernadette is a keen traveler and conscientious, with an infectious personality. She is of German origin, based in Surrey, England and has lived in Germany, Australia and the United States. She has an enthusiastic interest in the multicultural and speaks English, German and French.
